Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED)
  • At least 21 years of age
  • US Citizen
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • MO POST Certification preferred


Testing and Hiring Process

  • Written Exam
  • Physical Agility Test
  • Oral Interview
  • Intensive Background Investigation
  • Drug Screening
  • Medical Screening
  • Psychological Evaluation (after conditional offer)
  • Six-month probationary period after hire with pay increase upon successful completion of probationary period.


Agency Culture

The Palmyra Police Department is a small agency that allows its officers to be as proactive as they want. Officers will respond to a variety of calls for service, allowing officers to experience most aspects of law enforcement. Career enrichment opportunities include School Resource Officer, START Program Instructor, Field Training Officer, Specialization Training, and

Supervisory Positions.
